Mom had lobster, dad had AYCE Crab legs, wife had rib crab cake combo, son had fish and chips, I had king cut prime rib. Garlic buffalo wings were great, awesome flavor. Muffins were very good, they give you as much as you want too. A few made it into our take out containers for breakfast the next morning. Service was good and fast. Moms only complaint was the butter needed to be hotter for her lobster... Beers are a little expensive, Dogfish 90 was 7.50 and my reds was 5.00. Food was excellent and we will be back again...

By all rights, I should hate this place. The bar crowd gives off a kind of douchebag vibe, and it's built for tourists. Despite that, however, it turned out to be one of the best places I've eaten at in OCMD for lunch. The restaurant is large enough to feel like you and your party can enjoy yourselves without being aware of other tables. As the day was unusually hot and muggy, we ate inside and were very comfortable. The views were nice, and we lost nothing by not eating outside. The food took a bit to get to us, but was not offensively slow; when our waitress came by she was informed, efficient, and friendly. I went with her suggestion (a turkey club), and really enjoyed it. I can eat, and I was actually full after that sandwich. The cold sandwiches, by the way, come with delicious fries; the hot sandwiches/burgers don't, so value-wise you pay $8-9 for something you may need a box for.

Harpoon Hanna's has rarely let me down. I eat more in the bar area then the restaurant and the food and staff are outstanding. Hann'a prime rib is one of the best at the beach and their Sunday brunch is fantastic.

The place was a nice location , you can sit outside or inside with a/c . During the week was not pack . The food was great I will go back next time im in OC

Been going to Harpoon Hanna's for years. In fact, we typically go two times in a week. Once we sit inside and enjoy the crab leg feast and once we sit outside on the bayside deck and enjoy the live music and snack menu. Outside they have live music every night. Service with crab legs can be hit or miss some years (remember you're dealing mostly with summer help not professional waiters/waitresses). Overall, I would recommend Harpoon Hanna's to anyone that likes an all-you-can-eat crab leg feast. It's one of the best.

This is my fave spot in lower DE. Of course it was even better when my folks had their beach house on a canal in Fenwick - nothing starts a Sunday in the summer better than kayaking to Harpoon Hanna's for bloody Marys. But now they live about 15 miles away, and I still haunt this place when I visit them. It's a great mix of comfort bar food (seafood oriented, of course, but they have some great burger sliders) and more upscale stuff like lobster, scallops, and the like. Plus: BUZZTIME. Any place gets an extra star for having Buzztime. The patio in the back has a view of the water on nearly all sides. It trumps anything in Ocean City, IMHO. But it gets busy back at the Tiki Bar. Get there early. Summer....come on, come on, come on, come on. Winter blues are killing me!

Bad, expensive food. Poor service. The platonic form of a rip off beach restaraunt. Only the location earns it one star.

  • L C.

A bar you wouldn't expect low prices being on the water, that's 5 stars alone. The Yuengling was in the mid $3 range and a Pina Colada was below $5. Now, this was in April... maybe the prices go up in the summer? The wings although were a bit on the pricy side, weren't the best because they were dry although the seasoning on it saved it somewhat. I would suggest them coming up with a wet sauce of a garlic/buffalo concoction would bring LOTS of people in for that instead of a flavoring/seasoning for the dry wings. Bartenders are friendly and it gets a good crowd. I would come back here again for sure.

Waited 20 minutes for a table. Waitress never smiled and spilled a beer on us and charged us for it. Food came out in 30 minutes; they said there was a screw up in the kitchen. Staff was impatient. The place was old and kind of dirty. The tables were made out of ceramic floor tile; like it or not. We came here because our relatives said it was a good place around here and it isn't and we will not be coming back.

Atmosphere is noisy. Fish was undercooked, veggies were overcooked, lve had shrimp bigger than the lobster tails. Glorified version of Red Lobster!

I've been here several times over the years and it's an OK place...... It's nice in the summer because it's right on the bay, so the atmopshere is A LOT of fun!! The food is slightly overpriced, and is just your average bar food....plus some overpriced seafood items, but that is typical of the beach. The drinks however are not overpriced, so I definitely recommend this place for a nice lively atmosphere during the summer, and a more low key relaxed amtmosphere during the winter.

If you're going for the all you can eat crab legs.. sure why not.. anything else was disgusting.. how they can charge what they do for sure horrible food is beyond me. The lobster bisque is like 3 small chunks of lobster swimming in mayonnaise.. the steak (fillet mind you) was like eating the sole of a doc martin boot.. The salad was more cheese than anything else.. the service wasn't terrible, so I didn't take it out on them.. overall this was my least favorite dining experience in quite some time.. that being said, if you do go try the coconut muffins they give out, those are tasty.

Food is pretty terrible, but the waitstaff has been decent the past few years. ALWAYS PACKED---make a reservation. Tiki bar is fun but over priced and crowded. I like to go simpy for nostalgic reasons, but there are better tiki bars in the area for sure.

My husband and I have been going to Harpoon Hanna's almost every summer for about 20 years. It has always been one of our "must do's" when we visit OC. This was the first year that we were very disappointed with some of the food selections. Seems like there have been some changes since last year. First of all they are no longer serving flounder. How can this be in OC? Second we were not able to get the rock fish fried. Also, they have changed their blue cheese dressing. It used to be great this time it was awful. Same with the Cole slaw. Other items we got were good but both fish portions we ordered were very small. Happy to say that the muffins are still wonderful. When waiting outside to be called there was a very strong odor of cat urine. We have seen cats running around outside on previous visits but this time we certainly knew they had been there without actually seeing them. On the bright side we had very good service. Would be better if the tables were not so close together. We think we will try a different restaurant next year. One that definitely serves flounder.

The service isn't the best but they have amazing food. I like it best during the winter because the servers are better but summer has its benefits like the live music and outdoors dining

All you can eat ribs and Alaskan crab legs. Steaming hot, sweet and delicious. Sat on covered deck, once the rain stopped it opened to a perfect water view. Service was great. Pricey but worth it.

The view is amazing! The service was good. The sweet potato fries are really good. The crab cake was full of crab and not stuffing. It didn't need sauce. The French fries are amAzing!

OK this is the place to go via boat or car or walking for a snack of crab dip or plate of sliders sitting in the outdoor space and enjoying a cold beer or basic drink and on many days in the summer 1960s to 1980s live music. It is usually very crowded. I do not enjoy the inside which I find dark and at times dank and unattractive. The real place to be is outside at the bar or on the deck portion of the full service area. I find their simple food the best, fish and chips , crab cakes, etc.

First, I can't believe the owners of a multi-million dollar business would allow the older women who was the hostess to even have a job, she never even said hello to us, she never smiled and said how many, rude and angry, she must be someone's mother, sister, relative or something cause there would be no reason to even consider this horrible, unfriendly person as an employee. The thought of here being the first person your customers meet is irresponsible and she should be fired. Second, we have a family of 4 and they sat us at a table that could hardly fit two people. It was so wobbly our water glasses keep spilling. The table was also right in the middle of the walkway and my son had to repeatedly move for people to get by. We asked the hostess and the waitress if we could move, and they BOTH said no. I couldn't believe it. We would have left immediately, but we had already driven 40 minutes for this ridiculous meal and the kids were hungry. Lastly, the food sucked and was overpriced and not impressive at all. We basically could not even get dinners because the plates would not fit on the table. Overall this is a wasted trip for food and service that is so poor I get better service at Grotto's. We will never go back again and will make sure I tell everyone I know to never come here. Please don't waste your time; there are much better restaurants with owners and service providers that actually care about their customers.

I dont mind paying alot for awesome food but this place is highly priced for bland tasting food! Only thing that caught my palette is the tropical salad...crab cake entree not so big in which you get a $7 worth for a $14 entree. Server tried arguing that i ddnt order oyster although it was the first thing i asked for....arrggh! And oh being the only asian people ddnt make it comfortable nor welcoming!

My wife and I just love this place. The atmosphere is amazing when your sitting out on the deck and boats are pulling up or just riding by. The people have always been friendly, customers and the staff. The crab cakes are amazing, one of the best places to go for crab cakes. I have driven from the Baltimore area just to have dinner at Harpoon Hanna's.

Summary- harpoon hannah's used to be good in years past but has taken a drastic nose dive on all counts, as you see in the other reviews. Let me start out by telling you where to go instead of horrible hannah's if you are looking for a nice dinner overlooking the bay where you will get great seafood and attentive service: fish tales or fager's island, and if your heart isn't set on a bay view, then Phillips is delicious too. As for hannah's, it is clear that management is the root of the problem and why people who used to love this place are now disgusted. All of our food, land and sea, tasted fishy an chewy, hallmarks of something that's been frozen and thawed. Gross. We also arrived at 6 pm and between the horrible, inattentive service and long wait we did not leave until after 11. The bread girl rolled her eyes at us bc she did not expect us to answer in the affirmative when she asked if we wanted bread. The waitress brought two wrong dinners, plus one that had to be returned. She also refused to get a manager for us to speak with. We had to go to the bar to ask for everything we needed like bread, drink refills, to pay the check and find a manager. When we finally sought out the manager he was incredibly rude and told us he thought that he thought it was normal for dinners to take 1.5 hours to be delivered after they were ordered. After we spoke with him I understood why we saw a group of waitresses in the ladies' room all on their cell phones complaining about how awfultrye managers were. I feel bad for them, honestly. But I feel worse for families who go to this place with fond memories of what it was in years past, only to be sorely disappointed.

Harpoon Hanna's has become a staple for my family's yearly summer vacations in Bethany Beach. The Tiki Bar almost always has live music, the frozen drinks are great, and the view overlooking the bay is the perfect way to end a day. We love the steamed spiced shrimp, but all of the seafood is fresh and delicious, as are the fresh breads that are brought around before your dinner. We've never had a bad meal there, and the service is excellent. On a recent trip through Delaware I stopped there for lunch and confirmed that their lunch menu is just as great as their dinner menu. I recommend the crab imperial melt on an English muffin -- fantastic!

Love the music and the open air seating. Boats pulling up and going by are a lot of fun to watch while you eat. Definitely 5 on atmosphere. Service is ok, although feel like our table can get lost at times. Food is ok at tiki bar, better at fine dining but quite expensive for the area.

Considering the plethora of really awful tourist seafood holes in Ocean City and the surrounding areas it is hard to find one with any consistency. Hannas has been around for a long time and is a favorite of locals even in the off season - this says much of what you need to know. This is standard seafood fare and pub food and not alot more than that however it is all perfectly fine and service is always good. Like alot of businesses on the shore they hire a team of Eastern Europeans and these folks are only here for a limited time to make as much money as they can before they have to go back home - THUS they bust their butts for every dime and it shows despite their limited vocabulary in English (be VERY specific when you order especially when asking for any variations). On this visit I had a 1/2 spinach salad and some hot wings (real adventurous I know). The salad was very fresh (this was a weekday off season mind you) and the wings while not as "JUMBO" as the menu indicated were perfectly done and just fine. I've been here many times over the years and it remains an icon among the come and go joints around it - I don't recommend it for the 'best crabcake' etc (there really is no such thing near the beach honestly) but I do recommend it especially off season as a place that will never disappoint you and is reasonably priced. The reviewer who mentioned this place had poor and expensive food and lousy service either caught them on a bad day or has little experience in the art of local area comparison. If coming from Ocean City or Route 1 just remember 142nd street as this place is NOT on the main drag of the ocean. Head bayside direction down 142nd and you can't miss it. #update Aug 2 2015. Stopped in on the way back to Annapolis - nothing really changed too much - we were there at 3 and were given dinner menus. They also brought out butter to us before even the water arrived but when the bread 'lady' came around she skipped our table - the table next to us got bread but no butter. Just weird. The other thing was we were seated near the bar where there was live music playing and the stereo system in the dining area outside also had music but it wasn't what was being played at the bar. Thus the noise was just ridiculous. Someone has to be on top of little things like this - we weren't the only ones to notice. Details..... I can't say I'm coming back here again - unless it's just for drinks.

I had high hopes for this place because of the history and reputation, and for the most part, it was very nice. It was more formal than I expected, and the food was a bit pricey for how simple it was prepared. The steak had no seasoning, the vegetables were plain, and it all looked like stuff I could've done at home. But the atmosphere was romantic and the service was friendly and prompt.

This place is fun. There is lots of outdoor seating and live music. The food was ok. The bourbon salmon was amazing but the tuna was cooked to well done. Oih vey. What self respecting chef would do that to tuna? It was saved only by the lump crab on top. The wait staff was very friendly and upbeat.

Harpoon Hannah's has been around for as long as I can remember. I actually have a memory of going there when I was young teenager, so for then it was just for the food. Firstly, the food, mainly seafood, is not worth returning for. I had a broiled lobster platter that included scallops, a lobster tail, a crab cake and a flounder fillet. Only the lobster tail was pretty good. The flounder fillet was barely warm and watery, the scallops a bit limp, and crabcake was a decent size, but was low on lump meat and high on filler. A decent selection of salads are offered to precede the entree'. I chose the tropical salad... bed of lettuce, canned pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges and baby shrimp. It was quite good! On the other hand, the drink selection is large and the bar is generous with the alcohol! Definitely a great spot to meet for drinks. There's great atmosphere, it's filled to the gills with people and it's built right on the bay! So, check out this Fenwick landmark when you're thirsty, it's worth the good drinks and great atmosphere... and if you must eat, don't expect anything more than mediocre.

Certainly Hanna's is a restaurant in decline. My last visit I ordered stuffed flounder. Oh well, it had obviously been frozen since the imperial crab was puddled with water and cold. Even the basket of bread that the hostess roams with wasn't the quality it once was. Stale raisin bread and cold flounder isn't what I went to Hanna's for. My last visit wasn't any better. I ordered broiled soft crab but it was served deep fried. Hanna's was great years ago but 2 consecutive poor visits will put and end to what had been a place to look forward to.

This used to be my favorite restaurant when I stayed in OCMD. Over the years, I'm liking it less and less. The service is just "okay." It took a long time to get our drinks refilled. The bread server came once with a near empty basket. The food was mediocre. We ordered a shrimp appetizer and the shrimp were mushy. I had lobster and shrimp as my entree; it was over cooked. He had a steak and it was quite salty. On the plus side, being able to sit out on the water is always nice. But atmosphere just doesn't make up for the rest.

Awful food, except the service. How can a fish restaurant have ZERO menu items that are not deep fried. I had to ask to have the Tuna Steak sandwich broiled and not fried. They sent it out with a piece of plastic burned into the top. Oh well. The waitress was very nice and quickly took it away to get a new one. The vinegar for the salad was either Malt (like for the fish) or rancid...not sure how you can screw up vinegar. The ketchup is generic and too vinegary. No bread. They forgot the kid's sides. The place is dirty and smelly. The bathrooms were at least clean. Overall, completely underwhelming.

Wow. What a terrible experience, mainly service related. First we started off on the deck outside, but as weather threatened and you can't get the full menu outside, we decided to try for the dining room. Having spent a half hour on the deck we asked if the waiter could get us a table inside. Nope you have to go to the hostess and put your name on the list. Seriously? What kind of service is this...we've just spent $25 on beer and we're planning on spending more on dinner and the waiter can't add our names to the seating list? I know this isn't Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse, but seriously, you're rules are that frigging ridiculous? So we march into the hostess, grumbling all the way to be told a 20-30 minutes, which we spend in the indoor bar. Can we get the full menu at the indoor bar? No, only in the dining room. So we're finally seated. They have an all you can eat crab leg and rib special. I ask before I commit to eating ribs at a seafood restaurant (a $30 investment) I inquire if I could sample a single rib. Who wants to commit to all you can eat ribs to find out the kitchen par boils them prior to grilling, right? No. So wait, instead of giving me a small sample to convince me to spend $30, you're gonna say no and force me to order something smaller for $10? Your manager is an idiot, right? Then came the rain, and as we were seated on the covered patio and not indoors (in the dining room) the awning over which leaked to the point my dining companion was essentially being rained on. Bottom line - and I don't blame the server...the management was terrible, the service rules were ridiculous, and the restaurant does not know how to cater to their customers, many of whom are from DC and expect a higher quality of service.

We stopped in yesterday on our way home back to Pa. We had just won a Coed Tournament and had some cash to spend. There were about 12 of us, we all say in the bar area. Both bartenders were very good and attentitive. It was during the NFL games so they had specials, 5 dollar burgers, 5 dollar orders of wings and 5 dollar steamed shrimp. Everyone said the food was great. I had wings which were pretty good, fresh, cooked right, nice sauce. I also had some steamed shrimp and for my meal i got broiled tilapia. The fish was very good, the sides were great(mac and cheese and mixed veggies). The also served really good muffins with there bread. Too bad we had a 3 hour ride home or we would have stayed and partied it up but the food was definately above average. I should also note it wasn't very crowded being the off season, but I would still go back.

If you're going for a drink, then fine -- it's a nice location with an outside bar. But for dinner run, do not walk, to nearest exit. The seafood is Red Lobster quality (at best) at a much higher price. We were a party of 8 and every single person was disappointed in their food. Frozen seafood thawed and poorly prepared. Blecchh !

Out of our many trips this was our first dining experience at Harpoon Hanna's and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We had gone to the tiki bar on several occasions before and I believe even ordered some pick n munchers which, well to be honest, you have to work hard to screw that type of fare up. The seating staff were very polite and courteous, even when we requested a table change to outside. Our waitress was awesome and took the time to actually engage each of us. This was impressive from the standpoint that the place was absolutely packed! I had the crab cake and steak combo. I could have ordered 5 more, but with where I was headed drink wise this particular night, that would have ended poorly. Steak was cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were, and I don't say this lightly .... Some of the best I have ever had. Great atmosphere, great food. If you go here, unless you have a bad luck of the draw on service or any other number of links in the chain, you probably won't go wrong.

Factory food and mediocre service. All the entrees were tasteless, even the salads were just thrown together with zero creativity and lackluster ingredients. It is, on the other hand, a beautiful spot on the bay. Go for drinks and music if you want the view, there are so many places in the area to get a good meal, you should not waste a meal.

This is a restaurant from my wife's childhood that she has fond memories of. Unfortunately I think we all get older and perhaps we look for different things. The service we had was excellent. The young man that took care of us was polite and helpful and pretty attentive. The speed of service at lunch was good and nothing to complain about. The lower review has more to do with the food. Given the location and the type of restaurant I assumed seafood was the best way to go... Crab appetizer - this was slightly above average but was advertised as having sherry and if it did I couldn't taste it. Fried oysters - flavor was excellent... did not come with lemon or cocktail sauce (my preference) but only tartar sauce which I gave to my son since his fish sandwich had none (or any other sauce). Big issue though - I crunched on a large piece of shell and was luck not to lose a filling. Rockfish burrito - my wife's pick. Pretty to look at but zero flavor. Major lack of seasoning and no sauce or salsa of guacamole. Burgers - three kids had burgers. All were good although getting a specialty burger was the way to go. Cooked exactly to temp. Fish sandwich - good sized and well cooked. No sauce but with my tartar my son was happy. All portions were solid and prices reasonable for a lunch menu. I would not dinner if I had to wait but at lunch they are easy to get a table and in a really pretty spot on the inslet.

I don't even want to give this place 1 star, I went last night with my family and spend over 140$ and got served food I wouldn't even take home to my dog!!! I ordered scallops and the we're supposed to be broiled they were basically boiled with not flavor at all s Tasted like a watery rubber band.. for 30$ I would expect for the restraunt to at least know how to prepare the food properly. My brother in law could not even eat the shrimp he ordered they were hard and freezer burnt. Over all It was disgusting and I will never give that place another dollar. They get away with serving trash because of the "cool" location but don't let it fool you!!!

We ate here recently while in OC an in search of a good seafood restaurant. I'll start with the good and then the not-so-good. The Good: We had a nice table near the window with a view of the water. We ate here in December and in the evening so the view was really pretty and with the Christmas decorations. We were immediately greeted by our waitress and she was very friendly. The Not-So-Good: First off, this is a seafood restaurant so it's to be expected (IMO) the prices will be a little steep and this place was no exception. We started off with the hot crab dip appetizer and it was delicious, but not very hot almost luke warm/cold. I ordered the Chicken Chesapeake and it was HUGE, easily could have shared it with another person. It was just okay, not great and I have had better elsewhere. My husband ordered the AYCE crab legs and ribs, also said they were just okay. This is a nice restaurant but we didn't find the food to be worthy of the high prices. IMO if you're going to charge upwards of $15-$40 for your food it should taste like it deserves that kind of price tag!

We have been longtime visitors to Ocean City MD. but we found Harpoon Hanna's in Fenwick Island DE. that has a fun Tiki bar along a canal with great appetizers ,When you go into the restaurant you can get seated outside with a great view of the sunset, Prime Rib is great the Ziti with Lump crab is delicious , we went back two days later for the all you can eat Alaskan King crab legs a great buy. ocean

We went on a Monday night and the place was packed. Were told it would be a 45 minute wait, but it turned out to not even be 10 (and we were a party of 10). So that was a nice surprise. We also got seated on the outside deck on the water so that was also a nice bonus. The place is huge! Based on that alone, I was not expecting a good experience - service wise or taste wise, but the experience exceeded expectations (although the bar was set pretty low). I'm not a coconut fan so did not try the coconut muffins, but others said they were very good (the blueberry, meanwhile, tasted like it was made from a mix). We never did get any butter. Large/expansive menu. Overall, would have to say the meal was good, but way overpriced. In our large party we ordered the prime rib (some very large lumps of fat), the coconut shrimp and ribs (good), bourbon salmon (rated well), grilled mahi mahi and grilled tuna (good but needed side vegetables not just a baked potato accompanying it), fish and chip platter (not so highly rated). Service was good. So as long as you don't mind overpaying, worth a visit.

We've been coming here for over 10 years. Our visit Friday night was a little disappointing because our food came out cold (probably because our server was triple-sat). Pros: the muffin/bread basket, the tropical salad, the option for all-you-can-eat crab legs, the location, live music. Cons: the wait times, the waiting area, parking, wait staff is always rushing, food usually takes a while to come, drinks are slow to arrive. It's usually very crowded, so the noise level is pretty loud. As if Friday, it looks like they have painted the main dining room and expanded the indoor seating options since we were last here, both positive changes. Food quality is meh. Our waitress had never heard of a mint julep, neither had the bar staff.

Im torn between a 3 or a 4. 3.5 is for sure... Food is ok...I generally only eat appetizers and have no issue with their crab cake sliders (better than most in OC - actually can see crab in it), crab dip is GOOD and steamers are good. Atmosphere is awesome...if you want to hear music, grab a drink and sit outside for happy hr...A+. The deck is great in afternoon and evening to see sunset. If going for dinner 3.5 going for happy hour 5 (and want bar fare)

Had a wonderful experience at Harpoon Hannah's. I got the swordfish (blackened) and my wife got the bourbon salmon. Both were excellent!!! The service was wonderful also. The bread that one of the staff carries around in a basket and serves to you is the best. I had 4 slices of the cinnamon raisin bread. . Highly recommend!

we went here on a recommendation of a friend and he assured we would love it here.. Darn it , he was right. The bread was amazing. The view of the dock was very nice. The dining room was nicely decorated and roomy. The filet and crabcakes was nothing short of amazing. The service was good. Its out def go to place when we are back in town

Great service. Loved the bread basket and the sides. The crab cake was horrible. Think it was the worst I have ever had. Lots of filler and very little crabmeat. Some weird spices in it. Definitely didn't taste like ceab

I've defended this place for so long and it seems like the longer we're around OC the better options we begin to find. Yes the view is great but that is where everything stops. It seems that when hiring season comes around, Harpoon Hanna's is scraping bottom of the barrel. They're constantly more concerned with socializing and counting tips than taking care of their customers. Not only this, but shrimp is often rubbery, wings are overcooked, I can honestly say that my days at Harpoon Hannas has come to an end. I'll be taking my business and money elsewhere in the future.

From the beginning the hostesses were extremely unfriendly. Our waitress was very slow. The food was decent. The only thing I really liked about this place was the location on the bay and the live music that started around 8. Other than that, not impressed.

This place was ok...the restaurant setting was very nice...I had the grilled Mahi Mahi with a Caesar Salad and Lobster Bisque...my husband had the Grilled Rock Fish with a Spinach Salad and Lobster Bisque...the fish was cooked nicely....it could have used a wee bit more seasoning...my problem was the Lobster Bisque...it was much too thick and tasted very bland...we both had to add salt...the bread basket was cool...but I didn't quite understand it....it was full of sweet muffins and glazed cinnamon bread...? What? I mean it was good...but just an odd combo of breakfast breads and seafood lol...I might go back...but probaly only to visit the tiki bar section :)

All you can eat large snow crab legs were awesome. Waiter brought out large plates with crab legs piled high. Hot and sweet crab meat. Coconut corn rolls were warm and delicious. Nice tropical salad with shrimps to start off. Pins colada cooler was tasty. So much food and very prompt service. Great atmosphere, views of the bay and live music at the tiki bar. Must place for good eats. Bring your appetite.

My girlfriends and I go to Harpoon Hannas every year for their all you can eat snow crab legs. It's a great deal for the price. My personal experience has been that the food is average. Hits the spot if you're looking for seafood. Great drink selection and always love to get the rye bread and blueberry muffins. The best part of Harpoon Hanna's andy why I always want to go back is because of the service. This weekend in particular we had the nicest most considerate server wait on us. She even went out of her way to turn off a fan that was making the light blink above it. Thanks for another great meal!

This may be one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. The service was bad, the food was bad, even the wine was bad. This is definitely the kind of place you come to if you want a sugary sweet cocktail while overlooking the bay. (Tip: do NOT order the fish tacos.)

Wish I had read the reviews before eating here. My family and I were reading the reviews while sitting in the restaurant, I was hoping to find something good to order by the reviews since we were already there. I have to say, the best thing about the place was the bread basket girl!!! Out of the 5 items we ordered, I have nothing good to say about any of them. Chicken Tender dinner and Mac n Cheese was kid meal quality. I am very curious to know if that Mac n cheese is frozen stouffers. My 15 year old son recognized the taste. The crab and cheese pizza, was nothing but dough and just didn't taste good. My 14 year old who loves crab cooked any way, only ate a slice and said it just wasn't good. My shrimp salad wasn't good either. The shrimp were so tough and tasteless, one even still had the shell and legs. I couldn't eat it. My husband who played it safe (and never complains) with the Reuben, said it wasn't good and his stomach hurt half way through. What a waste of time and money. We would not return no matter how fun and happening of a hang out it looks to be on the outside.

Not that great. long lines to get in, service was slow. Food was expensive and really not that fresh. It was raining so we couldn't eat outside, that probably contributes to my negative review but i wouldn't make a special trip to go here, looks more like a tourist trap than anything.

We held high hopes for this place. My sister had fond memories of her visits here but she discovered it may have been for the muffin basket alone. The rest of our food was so-so and unfortunately, my sister was a little disappointed and still hungry by the time we left.

The bread basket at Harpoon Hanna's is enough of a reason to eat here! Last visit, we received raisin bread, blueberry muffins, and coconut muffins. They were all so good but the coconut muffins were amazing! We would've been happy to just eat the bread basket. But we did order food. Everyone was happy with their meals expect the cole slaw was super vinegar-y. But who cares about cole slaw. The service was friendly and the view of the water is lovely. I got the vegetable primavera (seemingly, the only vegetarian dish aside from salads) and it was delicious. I shared it with a family member and still had leftovers for lunch the next day. I will be back next time I'm in town. In the mean time I found a recipe for the coconut muffins to make at home.

Been here twice and twice got sick from the food. Service it ok and I know it's a popular place, but I won't be giving it s third try. Go a few miles down to Hoopers.

I've been here several times over the years, but this review will be from my last visit a few weeks ago, and my prior visits were consistent with this one anyway. First thing is this place is freaking HUGE, and they do their best to organize. However, it does make it seem very tourist foof factory-ish. We got seated pretty quickly, but noticed as soon as we got to our table that it was dirty underneath. We ask the hostess nicely to take care of this, and she was immediately annoyed, stood there not knowing what to do for about 30 seconds, and then realized she should get one of the other staff members to clean it. I could care less where they get their workers from, but in this case language wasn't the problem, it was brains. Later on she tried to seat 8 people at a 4 person table; there really isn't much worse than a bad hostess, but I digress... Thankfully, our waiter was a nice local kid who did a great job all things considered. Then came the dilemma of the bread basket; to amke things easier, Hannah's just has a bread girl walking around the room so the waiters have one less thing to worry about. However, language was the problem here, as the girl didn't understand basic english. Getting bread thus took 5 minutes; also, I thought it was weird that they didn't have white bread anything. We got two salads to start, one Caesar and one Tropical. The Caesar was weak, but I ordered it expecting it to be because I just happened to want a Caesar salad, so it was fine. The Tropical salad was the best part of the meal. It came in a nice Mango dressing with Mandarin and baby shrimp, and it was great. I don't usually like things like that, but it was particularly well done. For the main course, I had the Bourbon Salmon with fries and a crabcake. The crabcake sucked; hardly any lump in it, and not even a good flavor. With the exception of a few places, Ocean CIty has pretty crappy crabcakes. The salmon was a decent cut, but the bourbon sauce was overpowering and too sweet. I realize that bourbon sauces tend to be sweet, but this was over the top. My family's dishes were similiarly unimpressive. Worst part was that the dishes were not as cheap as others were saying, as mine alone was around $25. All in all, Harpoon Hannah's is a mediocre restaurant with inconsistent staff, faulty food, no atmosphere, and which is simply too big for them to manage effectively. If locals actually do come here consistently, I feel sorry for them. Ocean City is a great town, but like many tourist destinations it has a lot of crappy restaurants. It deserves better than places like this, even if they aren't all bad. If you go, be careful what you order, and don't expect the world.

This is about the only place in Ocean City to go for dinner the night before Thanksgiving. Everything else in the oceanside vacation town is closed for the season. We were wandering, cold and hungry, and folks at the local CVS told us that Harpoon Hanna's is where the locals go. They were right. The place is in this sort of bayside marina area and there are beached motorboats in the parking lot. Inside it's big and open, with lots of wood and different seating sections, all stuffed with happy eaters. The menu is big, too, with an emphasis on seafood and steak with a nod to Maryland crab. It's noisy, the drinks are big , the service is friendly and the food is actually good. Just what we needed! Oh - I almost forgot - Harpoon Hanna's has a bread server, a waitperson who comes around with a huge basket of different kinds of bread and rolls and serves each person individually afer describing each type of bread. Kind of like a dessert cart person in a fancy restaurant. An interesting touch.

Ok, so the place is PACKED every night we went past, we thought to ourselves, "this must be a great place to eat". We had high hopes...our high hopes were dashed. This place sucked! Rock fish was way too buttery and had no taste, french fries were COLD, the crab cakes were all filler. The only good thing was the waiter and the bread. We should have stopped at the local 7-11 for some hot dogs(puke) than eat at this dump. We will never eat here again...PLEASE people don't let the jammed packed parking lot fool ya! Eat at Nicks Sports bar, now thats a meal for your money- never disappointed here!

I love the atmosphere. Another bay side restaurant/bar with a huge outdoor deck. Food is good. I would go here again.

  • Natasha R.

The only reason I give it 2 stars is their location, otherwise it would be 0 to 1. Food is poor and expensive. The bar sits out on the water and it is a very beautiful view. Service was not great. Guy acted like he could not wait to finish his shift.

    (2)
  • Laura M.

The service was good. The muffins were GREAT. The food was OK. I ordered the BIG TUNA. I feel even though the crab cake was GREAT, they ruined the Tuna steak by overcooking it. It wasn't technically stuffed. So they could have cooked them individually, and then just piled on the crab cake on top. It was still an excellent meal, and I would order it again. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food too. We sat inside, and were attacked by flies the whole time. I've certainly had better food in Ocean City/Fenwick Island area, BUT I would go back, because it wasn't like it was terrible, and our service was great.

This place has totally gone downhill. The food here used to be pretty awesome. Just ate dinner there the other night, and was very disappointed. If you are going to be in the land of crabs, and offer crab on the menu, you better be able to knock it out of the park. The crabcakes I got should make them embarrassed! Overpriced, and not at all lump like the menu says. I would much rather go down the street to the Crabcake Factory, and get an AWESOME crabcake for much less the price. The crab dip was also nothing but cream (no crabmeat), and the Tropical Salad I got that I used to love here looked like someone just dumped A TON of dressing right on top. Gross!! Hanna's, you are in MD/DE, where EVERY restaurant should make a killer crabcake. You FAILED big time on everything. Even my favorite coconut muffins have suffered over the years. I will not be coming back. Oh yeah, and can you please hire some NON-Russian girls that speak half-decent English? Really annoying!!

This is one of our most favorite restaurants when our family visits ocean city! This was the first that we got the "All U Can Eat" crab legs and holy goodness... Like cracking into a piece of heaven!!! Crisp, hot, gigantic Alaskan crab meat! Go early due to the crowds but highly recommend!

A very nice place to eat at for lunch and dinner. Nice atmosphere, nice service, and nice food. The restaurant is right by the water and you can eat outside. The fried shrimp was delicious. If you are looking for a place to eat near ocean city I recommend checking out this place!

  • Jason R.

Good wings, good music, decent beer selection. Service was good however, the wait staff could learn a thing or two about manners. Bulldozing your way through guests being seated by a hostess then rolling your eyes is unacceptable and doesn't set a very hospitable tone for the meal.

This is my favorite place on earth to eat. I start off with homemade raisin bread. After that I get all you can eat snow crab legs and finish with chocolate heaven!

  • Gary G.

Super cool location on Fenwick Island with a great view of the water. The beer selection is solid, and they even have Golden Tee... score. :D This place is pretty legendary, so I'm sure it needs no introduction. I came here with a large group of family, so the ages ranged from 21 to 65, and everyone felt welcome and had a blast. Awesome place, cool staff, great booze. 5 stars.

Great food, at least in the $7-10 range such as sandwiches and wraps. All you can eat king crab legs and ribs are excellent. Some meals fries are included other meals fries are not included. Check the menu or ask the server. Brunch on Sundays. Service very good. The outside Tiki bar seating can get a bit out of control on crowded nights, as it is seat yourself. There is a different menu at the Tiki Bar. Also a large inside bar.

I ate there this past week, on Wednesday I think, and I wasn't impressed at all. The place was packed when we arrived about 7pm so we got some cocktails and appetizers in the 'tiki bar' on the deck. The cocktails were served in small plastic cups which seemed a little strange but it was outdoors, so whatever. The menu wasn't that exciting. I ordered a crab cake plate with a baked potato and caesar salad. My husband had a combination seafood broil. The food was bland and the presentation was bland. I felt like it was a waste of good seafood. The caesar salad dressing was really salty and not very good otherwise. Overall I've had better food at a large chain restaurant. I see other reviews where people are going on about the bread and muffins they bring around while you're waiting for your food. That was probably the best thing about the meal and it wasn't that great either. I don't see what the big crowds are about, especially when (even by California standards) the meals are not cheap at this place. Maybe it used to be better? The reason we went was my in-laws who have lived in the area for years and hadn't been to HH's in a quite a while were anxious to go. I don't know, I wouldn't go back myself.

2 stars is a stretch here and it's probably based just on the coconut muffins and the view. I have been coming here for years and was always a fan until last night. Arrived at 6:40 on a Friday and was told 30-50 minute wait for a table for 5 outside. The tiki bar area was so packed we had to wait inside and missed the sunset. We were not seated until 8:10. Yup, 90 minute wait. We figured out that they had only 3 tables outside set up for over 4 people so if u have over 4, I suggest you sit inside. Ordered clams on the half shell and received steamed clams and was told they only had oysters on the half shell on the menu. I checked the menu later and that is not true, both oysters and clams on the half shell are listed. Since it was so late we just ate the steamed clams which were mediocre. I had the fried oyster platter and they were so overly breaded the oysters were not recognizable. The coleslaw was good. My daughters chicken fingers were good. Would not recommend this place on weekends due to crowds.

Very good for the summer. It is along a river, has a tiki bar and a live performer. Not only that but it has good food. Also the have a bread basket. It is good.

Looks like menu and decor haven't been updated in decades. Interesting location on the bay/canal side of town, but not far from Route one. They have a nice compimentary bread selection, including sweet muffins and cinnamon bread, which the kids loved. I had the broiled seafood medley, which consisted of scallops, shrimp, and a small lobster tail. All were slightly overcooked, which I expected. But, the dish was broiled in butter. Only. Just butter. Nothing else. This was the most bland presentation of seafood I've ever seen. The tropical seafood salad was canned pineapple, canned mandarin oranges, and thawed baby shrimp over iceberg lettuce. The vegetable side dish was some sort of veg-all vegetable medley. I would equate the dishes here to diner food. This place needs a chef. Nothing was terrible, but I'd avoid it if possible.

Have been going here for years, not anymore! Where to begin? Place is rundown, was seated in a corner in the upper deck inside, floor under carpet is all soft and rotted out. We had a large group, one had some wingless fly in their salad, another had hair cooked into their prime rib, and the crab cake sliders were disgustingly fish and not fresh....and their once delicious coconut muffins were very dry and overcooked...never again

    (1)
  • Evylon D.

Service was slow - and ours was training a newbie!! Food was mediocre - possibly from sitting under a heat lamp. Had the broiled seafood platter - rubbery and fairly flavorless. Partner had a crab cake - he gave it two thumbs up. We sat by the water - lovely except for the flies and the family of cats under the deck - yikes..... Tiki bar is great - service and acoustic entertainment enticed us to the restaurant - stick with bar food and much better service.....

I'll write this while the family is still eating and I'm suffering from the 'itis. We came here for their Monday AYCE crab legs and ribs for $19.95. Off season at 3pm is quiet. The bar is full but the dining room only has 2 other couples. No wait for seating, prompt attention from the waitress. Bread was eh.... I'm not a foodie though. Here's some words from my foodie husband, Mom and daughter: "very nice sized portions, well cooked. Ribs are fork tender, fall off the bone succulent and juicy". They said the bbq sauce was just "ok"....I think it's good...not too sweet. "Crabs are well cooked, not dry, would have been better with crab seasoning". My daughter was the only one that wanted more ribs....I shared mine with her. The view outside is beautiful. I can only imagine how it would look in the summer.

We always visit Harpoon Hanna's every year we visit Bethany Beach, much to my mom's chagrin. It's not that she dislikes it, but I usually hold everyone's night up by ordering the all-you-can-eat Alaskan snow crab legs. It's pretty much a tradition at this point. Harpoon Hanna's is obviously mobbed on a consistent basis. Each time we visit in the summer, we've always had to wait at least 45 minutes for a table. The bar area, though, isn't usually overcrowded, making it a good place to spend your wait. Once at your table, watch for the girls bringing around the bread and muffins -- the macaroon muffins are awesome. And be sure to pick the tropical salad to start. Otherwise, the menu is pretty standard.

Love the stuffed flounder, tropical salad and the fresh breads are the reason I go. Sat us outside without a wait, waitress was perfect, all orders were correct & served hot, refills without asking. Highly recommend.

One of my favs. Go there by boat often and hang at the tiki bar. Good group of bartenders. Parking for 6 or more boats. Food is good. Happy hour from 3-6 is a prty atmosphere.

The atmosphere and service at this place is great for groups of all ages. I went here with the wife and some family friends. The raw oysters I had were really good and priced well. The crab and pasta sauce I had was okay, the wife had the seafood melody and that turned out to be pretty darn good. Overall the food here seems to be of decent quality and it doesn't seem like it will come out poorly. They have a large mixed drink selection and their beer selection is okay.

They have phenomenal food. Lousy, lousy service. Every single time I go. Quite pricey. Go in the offseason...they have good AUCE specials on Mondays and Thursdays. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer.

A better lunch than we expected - aimed at tourists, but the scallops were nice and fresh and well prepared. Crab-smothered chicken sandwich was simple and tasty. Drinks were good (nearby Catch 54's were better), and service was friendly and welcoming.

6 people supporting 4 different teams, yup, we needed the NFL ticket on a rainy Sunday in Ocean City. We called around and the Green Turtle was packed and way too small, Hooters only had the Raven's game (fail), Smitty McGee's said they didn't have a wait, but when we got there, they had no seating and no clue when they would. It was only 5 min later. Harpoon Hanna's saved the day! They had most of the games on, the bar area was large and not crowded. We were seated right away and our server took our drink order. They have a descent menu and brunch from 11-3 on Sundays if breakfast is what you need. I decided on a side salad and a ham & cheese sandwich. It was delicious! So good. My husband ordered the burger with cheddar, bacon and BBQ sauce. He loved it. Cooked perfectly and the bite I had was melt in your moth yummy. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. The down side-our server sucked! I mean, never checked on us, didn't put our food in so it took forever, didn't refill beers or drinks, forgot lots of things (sides etc.) and was hanging out 'helping' behind the bar. She could see us clearly so, I'm not sure what the deal was. It pretty much ruined our meal. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable and they kept changing the small TVs according to who new came in so, finding the game you wanted to watch got a little complicated. I would come back and get a regular server, not a bar-back or whatever she was.

  • Henry L.

Service was great, no problem there. Courteous and professional. However, the food was sub-diner or even sub-hospital food quality. Seriously not worth the wait or the money. They are lying if they are suggesting (or rather guarantee, as their menu states) that this fish is fresh. Bull. Frozen and thawed, or just plain old. My wife's tilapia came out cold and pink in the middle without any seasoning. Sticky, stinky and it left a taste in the mouth for hours afterwards. My rockfish tasted bland, but at least it was hot. However the "fresh vegetables of the day" were frozen and microwaved. Over-microwaved, even. We are not typically complainers, but we had to say something. Our server was polite and quickly offered my wife a substitute from the menu, but the deed was done and we just wanted our check. He came back with a 15% discount on the meal, which we appreciate, but we will never go back. It's a shame. Last year, we dined at the very same table and thought it was one of the best fish meals we'd ever had. This year, I'd say the worst I've ever had. Bottom line: Stay away. You want good fish? Buy some at the supermarket and make it at home. It will be 10X better.

We visited Harpoon Hanna's last week, and everything was absolutely fantastic. We went somewhat early for dinner (we arrived about 4:45PM) and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Marie, was very friendly and more than happy to offer recommendations (since this was our first time), and the muffin girl was cheerful and came back to offer seconds. The food was superb, cooked to perfection. Being that they are on the water, they also have docks where you can bring your boat and park and eat. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Maybe we'll bring the boat next time.

  • Elaine T.

I'm not sure much else can be said but here goes. Don't go to Hanna's expecting to be bowled over by unique and creative culinary masterpieces. It is what it is -- a very large, been-there-forever, tourist-focused restaurant designed to accommodate hundreds of people at one time. You can get seafood, steaks, salads or sandwiches, none of which try to win awards but all of which will most likely be fine. Your kids will like it here. Sit inside or outside. Buy the t-shirt. That's Hanna's.

I Ordered the crab appetizer and all you can eat crab legs. Crab dip was just alright I probably wouldn't order it again. The tropical salad is very good! My all you cab eat crab legs came out warm and were delicious !! I would go again !

My family was looking forward to our first seafood dinner on vacation and we chose to try Harpoon Hanna's. The setting is nice - right on the water and plenty of outdoor seating. While the service was good, the food and beverage left something to be desired. I was less than impressed with the draft beer selection. I decided to get a pint of Leininkuegal Amber Ale and it was flat. For dinner, I tried the Yellowfin Tuna "stuffed" with Crab Imperial. First of all, the tuna was not stuffed with anything but rather the crab was scooped on top of the fish. No big deal. If there was no crab on top of the tuna, it would have been too dry for my liking. The crab made the dish bearable but for $28 I expected a lot more for my money. My wife and father-in-law both had the all-you-can-eat King Crab dinner and they seemed to be satisfied. For dessert, I tried the Key Lime Pie and that was very tasty. All in all, a nice atmosphere at Harpoon Hanna's but the food is lacking in quality. Maybe if the place wasn't so damn huge, they'd be able to focus a little more on what they are preparing. For the price, you can get a lot more quality for your money.

    (2)
  • Paul B.

Chicken crab imperial is tasteless and large salads simply contain a big bowl of lettuce. Service was below average. The food tasted as if it was reheated cafeteria food. It is really too bad the food is so awful, the location overlooking the dock is fantastic.

I had the AYCE Crabs and Ribs for $19.99 off season and it was amazing. Dinner included a salad - I chose the tropical which is romaine, shrimp, pineapple, and oranges with honey mustard dressing, a side - baked potato, and the best fresh steamed Alaskan Crab Legs with slow cooked, flavorful baby back ribs. Even at full price it's still worth it. My Wife had Scallops, and my Daughter had Baked Chicken Breast stuffed with Broccoli and Cheese. The fresh baked coconut muffins were so good, I bought 6 to go! Definitely will be back in July.

Visited with RJ and his friends last night. There were very few people in the bar, so it's hard to understand why the service was so bad. The 4 of us shared seafood skins which was chunks of seafood and a cheesy sauce on potato skins, delicious! Bacon wrapped scallops were fantastic, coconut shirmp was good but a little dry.. The seafood spring rolls were weird, giant spring rolls with a ton of cabbage inside with one shrimp. They serve the same sauce with every single appetizer which should not be the case. RJ's friends ordered fish tacos and a burger which looked good. But we did not get the fish tacos because neither of us like rockfish, both of us prefer mahi. I am torn between a 2 and a 3 due to the sucky service, but the food was ok although not amazing, so I'll leave it as a 3.

My Wife and I have been going here for about 10 years. It used to be one of our favorite places to eat around OC/Fenwick. I am not sure what has happened over the past year. Things seem to take a long time to come out of the kitchen. Today we waited almost a hour after we ordered for our lunch to come out of the kitchen. I hungrily joked that they had to catch the rock fish first before cooking it. When it came out, it was good. We also enjoyed sitting in the covered deck area. The server was very nice and attentive. We really enjoy the muffins that they bring around before your meal. We'll go back in a few months to see if they have gotten into their groove again.

This is the second time I went to this establishment. The food is good, the atmosphere is better and my only complaint is that the bread lady only visited our table once. I love their coconut muffins but only got one. In the north ocean city Maryland area this is one of the finer restaurants. I will return any time I get back in the area. The 3 star rating is only due to the unattentive bread lady.

This place was pretty good. I enjoyed sitting on the deck. There was a dock where boats could pull in and stop at the bar. The environment was nice. I ordered fish and chips. They were big and delicious. The portions were large. It seemed everyone enjoyed their food. We had a very good server. He was calm and took care of us. We had kids in the group and everything went smoothly. I will be back.

Went on a Thursday night in mid November and lucked out on a Lobster closeout special...2-1/4lb with 2 sides for $23.99! YES!!! It was served fresh, delicious, and filled me up....well, the coconut muffins helped in that regard ;) Another excellent meal at one of my favorite OC restaurants!

This place is ok. We were seated on the water and immediately seen by our waitress. We ordered drinks and appetizers (crispy vegetable wraps and the crab dip). The crab dip was some of the best that I've ever eaten; no fillers with plentiful crab meat. The vegetable wraps however were very bland, with zero seasoning; even the sauce dip that accompanied the wraps was not good. However, based on the scenery alone I would still recommend.

Had better coconut shrimp in land locked PA. Slow service mediocre reheated food, even my margarita left something to be desired. Is anything here made in house? Even the waitstaff doesn't look happy to be here.

I used to come to Harpoon Hanna's a lot, but it's been ages since the last time. Food was excellent, but the service was slow and inattentive. Took 15 minutes before anyone came near our table.

I loved this place. Overall had a great atmosphere. Emily our server was awesome! Food was very good. Definitely will go back!

Decent seafood restaurant near Ocean City, MD. Fair price, great service and laid back atmosphere. The All-You-Can-Eat crab legs is a good deal if you are into that. With lack of good restaurants in the area, this is one of the better options hence probably worth visiting.

I would give a zero star if possible. Food was bland and the service was terrible. I ended up bussing my own drinks. To be fair, we were a large group but empty glasses/plates need to be cleared. We asked for extra napkins for a large table and we still needed more. The waiter returned and threw them on the table. Don't come here.

First time there. Place was very busy but we did not have to wait even with a party of 6. We sat outside on the deck and it was very pleasant. Everything we ordered was very good. The coconut muffins were the best. Prices are a little steep. Dinner was $198 with only 4 beers on the bill. All in all it was nice and we even had a little cat whom came around and visited everyone.

Ate here this evening with family (2 adults, 2 teens). We did not have to wait for a table and sat outside. Saw a nice sunset. Meal: Bread basket: nice touch with muffins, rye and pumpernickel bread. Salads that came with dinner were nicely sized. Dinners: - NY Strip: cooked nicely and seasoned well - crab cake -- was ok. Not the best we have had, but certainly not the worst. - steamed shrimp -- seasoned heavily w/ old bay. But was good. (Note: you will need to peel shell off) - kids chicken fingers -- hard to goof up. We would return

Food is OK, service is mediocre, but we keep coming back for more because the tiki bar atmosphere is so much fun. Usually good live music on weekend nights and the frozen drinks and orange crushes are delicious.

Tourist trap. It used to be good but the quality has gone way downhill. The pro is that it has seafood and steak. The con is that if you are a foodie like me, you will not be satisfied at all. Neither seafood nor steak was cooked correctly. Bottomline: food sucks but if you have a big family with people who aren't foodies maybe they will like it

We ate here on Saturday night ( aug 23). It was wonderful. We waited only 10 minutes before being seated. It had been 20 years since we had been there last and it was as remembered. The bread basket brought around still has great home baked goodies. The service was really attentive and the food was wonderful. Dont believe other reviews that says its terrible. Great location, food, service! I highly recommend you try it!

They do not take reservations but wait was under 20 minutes on New Years Eve. We did not feel rushed once we got seated. Our waitress was Maricela, wonderful service. Crab dip is a must. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

If you're looking for a decent place on the water for a happy hour, this is a good place. Beer is decent & there's a good amount of seating right on the water. Food is above average bar food. Servers are friendly but slow and not very attentive so make sure you plan your next drink or food order in advance.

Some good + some bad + some average = average. The good: Crab pizza. Definitely worth getting as an appetizer or even a meal. It's smaller than a regular pizza but the crab and the cheese is most generous. The crust is also the right amounts of chewy and crispy. The bad: Five out of our 8 person party ordered neptune eggs off the Sunday brunch menu, which is basically eggs benedict but with crab instead of pork. For all 5 orders the eggs were way overcooked, with a solid yolks. The hollandaise sauce was also broken, with the fat separated. The chef at our party said that both of these things could happen if the kitchen messes up or if the food is left under the heat lamp for too long. The order did take a long time to arrive, so who knows? All together, the food tasted pretty good and the side potatoes were tasty, but runny yolks is something I very much look forward to when I order poached eggs, so this was kinda heartbreaking. The average: The muffins and apple turnovers brought to the table in the beginning, although nice and warm, were way way too sweet. Everyone else did finish theirs, so it could be just me. The service wasn't bad, friendly and fairly attentive, with the possible problem of keeping the food under the heat lamp for too long.

Sat at the Tiki Bar for dinner tonight. While the view is very nice, and the live music was really good, the service at the bar was outright horrible. There were 3 bartenders working, and a total of about 10 people at the most sitting at the bar. It was very difficult to get a bartender's attention to order food or to get a drink. They seemed mostly interested in watching the baseball and football games on the TV's. The food was just OK.

Great service. Muffins were tasty - blueberry and coconut. Mahi Mahi blackened and crab imperial fantastic. Garden Rock entree very good! Definitely recommend checking out!

Avoid all all costs. Tourist trap to the 6th degree. Service is awful. Food quality is horrendous. Basically it is all pre frozen cisco food that is deep fried and served at a highly inflated price. Atmosphere is subpar at best. Service was terrible. Cocktails have little to no alcohol. The view on the deck was pretty nice, but that's about it. Stat away.

Party of 15, night ended arguing with the GM and leaving angry after being in the restaurant for a total of 3 hours. Told we would have a 5-10 minute wait for a table to be set, ended up waiting over 30 minutes without a single proactive update from the hostess. Seated for 10-15 minutes before meeting out waitress, was at the table for roughly 30 minutes before getting our drink order (1/2 of which were for kids), over 30 minutes for bread and only got water after asking for it (it was served with the salads, roughly 1 hour after we sat down for dinner). Did not get served dinner for 1 1/2 hours. The table next to us with a similar size party had water, bread, orders taken and appetizers served long before us even though they were seating 10-15 minutes after us. Rather than taking responsibility for what was obviously a bad situation and a waitress that was overloaded with tables, management sent the waitress back to the table to apologize for her bad service and offered to take the few kids meals off the check (that was close to $350). The manager wasn't professional enough to visit the table to discuss our complaints even though I sought him out and complained directly before our food was finally served. GM came to the table only AFTER I told the waitress it was not her we were complaining about and that the management should deal with the situation. He proceeded to argue with (6) grown adults about our recollection of the evening and stated that they had done nothing wrong. Ended the "conversation" with some unprofessional, ludicrous statement about "some people taking longer than others to eat". Food wasn't bad but will never visit a restaurant this poorly run again. The GM was proud to say he had been "doing this for 21 years" when multiple people told him his people / customer service skills were poor. Maybe HH should think about getting a new GM or sending this one back to customer service 101 / lose the ego school.

It began to rain on the day my family went. It was difficult to enjoy our meal while rain was dripping on the table. We asked to be moved to which we were told we would have to wait (we had already been on a wait for the table). We asked to see the manager to which we were told they were all busy but they would try to bring one by. As for the food, however, I liked the crab soup. They offer an exceptional variety of bread before dinner. The seafood medley is amazing as was the crab imperial that I got on my fish. It was overall not worth the long wait to sit at a bad table with no compensation except for the waiter feeling bad. The waiter admitted the manager knew this was an issue. There were also buckets near the restrooms to catch the rain as well. You be the judge.....

Wait staff not trained, not supervised, and not helping one another. No manager in sight. Lack of coordination results in a 30 minute wait for water or butter. Kitchen took an hour for appetizers. Food was very good. Bus help could clear tables, give water, and anything else. Maybe this was just the beginning of summer growing pains.

Our family's been coming here for years - no more. A 50-70 minute wait became well over an hour and a half. That alone wouldn't have been so bad but coupled with the MAJOR attitudes of the women at the hostess station, it was too much. Add in another hour and a half to receive our food (some of it cold) and a male employee spotted in the bathroom that failed to wash his hands - these are not qualities of a 5 star restaurant. I give it two stars - one for the manager that sent over free food in an attempt to make things right and our waiter Nick who did the best he could considering the circumstances. Think twice before going here.

I went here as my first Ocean City (ish) dining experience to kick off my vacation. What a disappointment! We sat outside at a table at the Tiki Bar. We weren't acknowledged when we arrived. We approached the bartend to get drinks and requested a lunch menu. After reviewing the menu over and over and realizing we still had to request service, we waved the bar tend to our table. He took our order without writing it down and then went to order our items. The food was brought to us by the 2nd bar tend who seemed slightly more attentive. I ordered boneless garlic buffalo wings and received boned wings. I didn't complain, as too much time had already passed. We also got a burger, no fries that we did order separately. And seafood potato skins. The food tasted great. The wings were wonderful. The burger was delicious. The skins were very tasty. We later ordered coconut muffins that we read about that were perfect, although they seemed to have shrunk in size according to other bloggers. We did have to go to the bar and get napkins, cutlery, drinks and refills, as the bar tend was busy slicing oranges. When we were ready for the check, we did have to inform the man that we did not receive the fries and that the wings were wrong. (So he did process the order correctly! +1) As you have read, we received very poor service. Even a Monday early afternoon bartender should know to at least take someone's drink order when they walk into your bar! The food was really great. I will try this once more, in the dining room perhaps.

Very disappointed! I used to come here often in late 90's and it was a great place to eat then. Now on this visit, the service was slow. We were sitting for at least 10 minutes before We were asked if we wanted any drinks. The staff don't bus the tables efficiently, we had our salad plates piled up when they brought our dinner and nobody took them away the entire meal. The staff were too busy talking to each other and singing Happy Birthday to at least 4 tables during our dinner. Don't get anything fried because there is way too much breading. If you get crabcakes get them broiled. My fried crabcake was mushy in the middle like it wasn't cooked enough. My daughter had the broiled crabcakes which were good but no big chunks of crabmeat just stringy crabmeat. My wife had the broiled scallops, lobster tail and shrimp. They were drenched in butter and oil. Not that tasty. My other daughter had the crab penne which barely tasted of crab. The crabmeat was barely visible it was mulched up in the sauce. It took a long time for the food to come out too. If you want good seafood pick another place.

we returned on our vacation for dinner last night and unlike my last review the service from Olivia was outstanding. The drop off was the food, inconsistent and a little bland for example one salad had dressing another had none.My oyster appetizer was shell and water only about one full oyster. My parties dinners were fine but not to memorable. In defense the place was packed but they should be more capable.

Went to Harpoon Hanna's last night. Great view of the water out on the deck. A place to go and sit at the bar for a drink or two and listen to the music. Will definitely never go back for dinner. It took 30 min. to get our first drink and then It took over 1 hour and 15 min. to finally get our food. All this on an off night. Much to my disappointment, I get better food at a bowling alley. Had to send some of the food back because it was not correct and had to get some items credited back because they never made it to the table. Save yourself the trouble here. Plenty of other places in O.C. With great views and decent food.

I don't know how this place only has an average of three stars. Excellent experience! Our waiter was wonderful, exceptionally nice and helpful and the food was amazing! If you go right at 5 there really isn't a wait. But it does fill up fast. The place was packed and there's a good reason for it. Would definitely go back.

By land or sea this place is great! I have traveled here by boat and by car and must say that both are enjoyable. Like most boat parking in the OC area it can be sparse depending on what time of day you arrive. The drinks are always flowing and you can sit out on the Tikki Bar and try out an original Orange Crush a must if you haven't tried one yet. The view is great with boats going by at all times of the day. I had decent experience with the waitstaff though it would be helpful if they had a few more bartenders at the Tikki Bar. This is the best bar Fenwick Island has to offer so don't forget to stop on your way into Ocean City. As Jimmy Buffett says "Thank God The Tikki Bar is Open"

Service... I expect poor service in a town like this especially early in the season. But this was awful. We asked about the fish of the day and the waitress didn't know the price nor did she offer th look it up until there was an awkward silence. We had to ask for water multiple times, and my salad didn't come until I reminded them about it after receiving the entree. The person who brought the bottle of wine needed to get help because he didn't know how to use the cork screw. The person who passes out bread kept skipping over our table until we flagged her down. When she finally came to our table it was very clear that she was stoned. The food was also poor. The Maryland crab soup was bland. I had rockfish with vegetables as the entree. The rockfish itself was reasonably fresh tasting and cooked well but the vegetables on top were so overcooked that it destroyed the fish. The other diners I ate with were equally unimpressed. Many parts of the meal tasted previously frozen. We have had many subpar dining experiences in ocmd. This was one of the worst.

We enjoyed our vacation to the Delaware Beaches and this place was close to where we were staying. We had such a beautiful night and had driven by Harpoon Hanas so we knew that there was a significant amount of outdoor seating on the water. We could not complain about the evening. We had the All You Can Eat Crab legs. They brought out a large portion to begin and the waiter was very responsive and helpful. The crab legs were the best we experienced on the vacation.

The tiki bar gets a five star rating because the view is awesome. It is great to get a spot by the railing and just watch the boats cruise by. Don't tell anybody though cause we want that spot when we go back.

Tepid service. Would have given one star but they had a few different IPAs available, ones I'd actually try, so I'll give them credit for not having the worst beer. Came here with my brother for his bachelor party, along with about ten others--it took about 25 minutes just to get beers. I asked for pitchers, which ended up not being possible for some reason, so eventually, water and beer was provided. Slowest, most apathetic bartending imaginable.

This used to be our go to place when at the beach but its gone down hill. Our last visit was the worse. Was there recently and it will be the last time. It started when they sat us between two tables that had customers already seated when there were over 15 empty tables all around us. The tables were so close that my wife and I felt like we were part of the other two tables. You could not have a private conversation and had to listen to some old man babbling on his cell phone for 30 minutes talking about buying a boat. Then the waiter takes the order. Was waiting for the bread. This place is famous for having the bread girls walking around with fresh bread. Never saw the bread person once. Asked the waiter about the bread and he comes back with one piece for each of us... I ordered a steak and crab cake and he forgot the crabcake. That arrived 20 minutes later after I was done eating everything else. The steak tasted weird as well..Just a horrible experience. Ran out of drinks and waiter was no where to be found until it was time for the check. We looked forward to eating here every year and each year it gets worse and this year was the final visit. There are so many other good places to eat at down at the shore. edit 1/14. the company reached out to me which is impressive so bumping this up a star for now. will give them another shot this summer and will increase my rating accordingly. I think they will make things right. kudos for good customer service after the fact.. edit 9/14- I never bothered coming back here to see if things changed. In looking at the reviews since last year, seems to be hit or miss. While I appreciate them reaching out to me I do not feel that I should have to be singled out to get good service and did not want to deal with the awkwardness nor take the chance. we found another place that so far has delivered on every occasion. I wish Hannas the best but I feel customers should get good service and food without having to complain or write a bad review but kudos to them for caring about the customer and wanting to make things right.

Two words. Bad service. They've got 5 people working the bar, one of whom is talking to customers, 4 of whom are talking to each other. Oh, an hootie and the blowfish is playing.

This place is fantastic. The restaurant is right on the water and you can see the sunset over the bay during your dinner. Had the prime rib with garlic, scallops, and shrimp on top. It was so much food but so much good! Waiter was really helpful and fantastic! Highly recommend the place. My friend got the broiled rockfish which is now in season and was terrific. The best part?! Delaware = tax free

I've been to Harpoon Hanna's about 8-10 times over the last 20 years. This was my last visit. I always order the crab cake platter. The crab cakes on this visit were horrible. I couldn't even finish eating the first one. The Old Bay seasoning was so strong and overpowering, you couldn't taste anything else. I tried the second one and it was the same. I didn't finished it either. The worst part was that I paid $23.99 or so. I told the waitress and she apologized, but that was it. I wasn't trying to get a free meal, but something would have been nice. Especially seeing that I left 2 half-eaten crab cakes on the plate. Second, there are stray cats that hang around the deck area. They seem to live under the deck. Not sure if that is a health code issue or not, but it can't be good.
